Hamza ibn Abd al-Muttalib (as), known as the Master of the Martyrs, was Prophet Muhammad's (pbuh) uncle and one of his key supporters. It has been narrated that even while he had not embraced Islam, he would support the Prophet against the infidels' offenses. He was a nobleman of the Quraish; hence, when he embraced Islam the Quraish tribe would annoy the Prophet less often.
