Masjid itu bernama Jabal Nur. "Jabal" artinya gunung, sedangkan "Nur" adalah cahaya (Islam). Menurut, nama itu sengaja dibuat karena ingin Islam menjadi cahaya di puncak tertinggi di Senduro itu. Ukurannya tak terlalu besar sekitar 10 x 8 m, tapi setidaknya cukup jika menampung lebih dari 50 jamaah. Belum lagi di bagian teras luar masjid.
