The Amagi-class battlescruiser is one of the workhorses of the Japanese Navy's Eight-Eighth Fleet program. On the basis of the hull of Nagao class battleship, a double-mounted main gun is added. The turret layout is similar to that of Kaga class battleship. It can be said that it is the Kaga class light-armored and fast type, with reduced armor.

The Amagi class was a series of four battlecruisers planned for the Imperial Japanese Navy as part of the Eight-eight fleet in the early 1920s. The ships were to be named Amagi, Akagi, Atago, and Takao. The Amagi design was essentially a lengthened version of the Tosa-class battleship, but with a thinner armored belt and deck, a more powerful propulsion system, and a modified secondary.

My review of the Amagi Battleship in game, or battlecruiser, as it was designed. A decent game with lots of stats thrown out and comparisons between the tie.
